It is the primary goal of the Township of Spallumcheen to preserve the Township's agricultural land base, the community's rural character and environmental attributes while allowing changes in land use which will not compromise this primary goal.
The Official Community Plan (OCP) is a statement of broad objectives and policies of the Township of Spallumcheen that provides a vision for land use and development. The OCP is a bylaw that is adopted by the Council to guide the future location, type and density of residential, industrial, commercial, agricultural and recreational land uses. The OCP can also guide future locations and phasing of any major roads, sewer lines or water systems.

A Property Information Request (PIR) allows for the public and development community to obtain information regarding building, zoning, business licenses, and bylaw requirements pertaining to a particular property. This type of request can also help to determine if there are any violations on the property that are known to the municipality, whether an occupancy permit has been issued, and the current zoning of the property.

In collaboration with our neighbouring communities and partners, our trails and cycling routes will attract economic and tourism benefits that highlight local culture, support a healthy environment, and encourage an active community.
The Active Transportation Plan (Plan) is a guiding document that helps set a direction for the Townships planning in relation to Active Transportation. This plan was adopted at the August 18, 2021 Regular Council meeting.
