Pursuant to Local Government Act (LGA) Section 464(2) a local government is not required to hold a public hearing on a proposed zoning bylaw if:

a. an official community plan is in effect for the area that is the subject of the zoning bylaw,
b. the bylaw is consistent with the official community plan

As the proposed bylaw amendments meet the above provisions, notice is hereby given that a public hearing will not be held relating to Zoning Text Amendment Bylaw 2192, 2026.

Bylaw 2192, 2026 proposes to amend the Zoning Bylaw by:

  • Updating legislative references;
  • Permitting retail sales of on-farm produced cannabis on ALR lands pursuant to ALR Use Regulation 30/2019;
  • Clarifying subdivision requirements in the Large Holding and Agricultural Zones, where in the ALR and approved by the ALC or Approving Officer under Section 3 of the ALR General Regulation;
  • Increasing the maximum height of residential building in the Large Holding Zone to align with the other zones; and
  • Amending winery and cidery use to Alcohol Production Facility in alignment with the ALC.
