Township Invites Community Members to second Open House on Water Utility Service Improvements
The Township is committed to sustainably delivering services to its community members by managing its infrastructure and planning ahead for updates and replacements. The Township is currently undertaking many water infrastructure upgrades. Water meters are one of the essential components of the municipal water system. The metering program and upgrades to technology enables customers to better understand their water usage, conserve water, save money, and reduce the need for manual meter readers.
Community members are invited to attend a public open house to learn more about the Water System Upgrades including Water Meters on Tuesday, October 17 from 4 to 6 p.m.
The Township has contracted KTI Utility Services to complete water meter installations in our water local area services. The new meters will be installed in all water local area services managed by Spallumcheen, including Larkin, Eagle Rock, Hankey, Pleasant Valley, Round Prairie, Highland Park, Lansdowne, Silver Star and Stardel. Although Stepping Stones is also a water local area service within the Township, it is currently managed through Greater Vernon Water and will not be included in this round of improvements.
Installation of the meters will begin in October 2023 at no cost to property owners. Residents of the areas receiving the upgraded meters will receive direct mail letters from KTI Utility Services and the Township with further information about the process.
