AMENDED EVACUATION ORDER AND ALERT AREA
[Spallumcheen, BC – August 4, 2026 9:45am] — Evacuation Order and Alert areas have been amended upon the recommendation of BC Wildfire. Wildfire crews strong efforts over the weekend have allowed us to shrink the Evacuation Order area and amend the alert areas.
“Please be respectful of our residents that have lost homes and structures,” states Mayor Fraser. “We are still confirming final numbers but have 2 confirmed homes lost and 2 confirmed outbuildings lost. It’s also important to note that many people are returning home today in the Township but we still have 13 properties on Evacuation Order and 721 properties on Evacuation Alert. Non-residents are asked to stay out of the Evacuation Alert areas as residents return to their homes so they can get back safely.”
“Our thoughts also go out to our neighbours in various communities that remain evacuated from their homes due to this fire,” notes Mayor Fraser, “ and we want to thank BC Wildfire, the many fire fighters and fire departments, response agencies, businesses, and volunteers who have helped to support our community.”

The reception centre located at Hassan Arena is now closed. You can access Emergency Support Services online https://ess.gov.bc.ca/. BC Evacuee Helpline is open from 730am to 900pm 1-800-387-4258.
