The Township of Spallumcheen has activated a Level #1 Emergency Operation Centre (EOC) at 08:00 hours on Saturday, August 20, 2022 due to a Wildfire located east of the Township of Spallumcheen boundary identified as the Vlem Creek Fire under BC Wildfire # K41616.

The Armstrong Spallumcheen Fire Department is further assessing the situation with BC Wildfire and Township staff. BC Wildfire is actively working at the site and the fire has been reported as approximately 3 hectares in size as of 11:00 am Saturday, August 20, 2022. As of this afternoon the fire has not entered Township borders and no structures are currently threatened.
