Silver Creek/Hullcar Mtn BC Wildfire K41796 EVACUATION ORDER AND ALERT AREA IN EFFECT
[Spallumcheen, BC, 2024-08-06] — An Evacuation Order has been issued 2024-08-06 at 7:30 pm by the Township of Spallumcheen at the Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) upon the advice of BC Wildfire Services. A wildfire is burning on Hullcar Mountain in the Columbia Shuswap Regional District (CSRD) and in an abundance of caution based on the recommendation of BC Wildfire Service, an EVACUATION ORDER and an EVACUATION ALERT AREA are both in effect. Reception Centre:
If you are on EVACUATION ORDER you can register yourself for Emergency Support Services online here https://ess.gov.bc.ca/. Please note, the Township Reception Centre has moved to the Armstrong Spallumcheen fairgrounds at 3315 Pleasant Valley Road. You can proceed there to register in person. Reception centre opened August 6, 2024 at 8:00pm and will remain open until 1:00am. Reception centre will reopen at 8:00 am on Wednesday August 7, 2024.
If you do not have family or friends to stay with and your home insurance does not cover your living expenses during evacuations you may be eligible for support from the Provincial Government.
The Township Emergency Operations Centre is standing down at 11:30 pm and will reopen at 8:00 am.
