The Township of Spallumcheen would like to inform residents about an upcoming project to collect 360-degree imagery across the community.
Between June 23 and 25, 2025, authorized contractors from Urban Systems Ltd. will be capturing 360-degree photos of public roads and spaces. The photos will be collected using specialized camera equipment mounted on top of a vehicle that will travel along public roads within Spallumcheen.
This project is a part of the Township’s efforts to improve digital mapping and infrastructure management. The imagery collected will be used to:
• Provide up-to-date, accurate visuals for Google Maps Street View
• Support better navigation and geographic services, and
• Update the Township’s road signage inventory.
What to Expect
Between June 23 and 25, 2025, you may notice a vehicle with mounted camera equipment driving around the community at about 30 km/h.
This may cause very short delays. Only public roads and spaces will be recorded. The vehicle will only collect images from public roads and spaces – it will not enter private property.
Privacy
The Township is committed to the privacy of residents. All faces, license plates and other identifying information will be blurred before any images are published to Google Maps.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation while this work is being completed.
