Council Procedure Bylaw 2067, 2022

as per section 94 &124 of the Community Charter

Please be advised that the Township of Spallumcheen Council will be considering first, second and third reading of the Township of Spallumcheen Council Procedure Bylaw No. 2067, 2022 at the 5:30 pm Monday, March 7, 2022 Regular Council meeting.

The bylaw will first be introduced at the 9:00 am Monday, March 7, 2022 Committee of the Whole meeting for discussion.

The summary of main items that have been amended in the proposed bylaw are as follows:

Regular Council Meeting time Change from 7:00 pm to 5:30 pm.
Ability to commence the Regular meeting prior to 5:30 pm only for the purposes of holding an in camera meeting prior to the regular Council business.
Increased ability for Electronic Meeting attendance, as well as rules relating to electronic meeting procedures.
The minutes available on the Township’s website won’t include signatures.
Ability to change the order of business on the agenda for convening into closed session
Clarity that the mover or seconder can agree to a minor amendment to the resolution prior to the vote.
That the Corporate Officer can reschedule delegation requests and that if a delegate would like to appeal the decision that they must submit their concerns in writing.

The bylaw will be available for public inspection at the municipal office Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, except statutory holidays.
