The Township of Spallumcheen intends to enter into a land rental agreement for a 0.15-hectare site (the “Property”) located within a portion of 4305 L&A Cross Road, legally described as Lot 2 Section 2 Township 7 And Section 35 Township 8 ODYD Plan 35183 Except Plans 35556, KAP54885, KAP74082 and EPP111197; PID: 001-736-591 (the “Lands”). The Lands are identified in bold outline on Figure 1 and the Property is identified in bold dashed outline on Figure 2. 


Township policy identifies the long-term support of farming within the community. As such, it is proposed that the Property be rented at market value to the Small Scale Meat Producers Association for the construction and operation of a butcher-hub (meat processing facility). The land rental agreement may be for a period of up to 3 years with the possibility of an extension for up to an additional 3 years. Consideration of the rental acquisition of the Property is not available to the public. Use of the land must be in accordance Township of Spallumcheen bylaws and Agricultural Land Commission regulations.
This notice is provided in accordance with Section 26 and section 94 of the Community Charter.

 Anyone wishing to make representation to Council on the above proposals is invited to provide their comments in writing by June 28, 2024 at 4pm. Written submissions must include your name and address, and will be accepted as follows:

- via regular mail at 4144 Spallumcheen Way, Spallumcheen, BC, V0E 1B6; or
- dropped off at the Township Office at 4144 Spallumcheen Way, Spallumcheen, BC
