Congratulations to Lisa Gyorkos,  Township's Deputy Corporate Officer, for achieving the 2021 PADM Academic Award of Honour.  Capilano University provides this award to graduates annually who meet a specific grade point average once completing their Local Government Administration Certificate.  This certificate program is designed for local government employees, and others looking to be hired in the field, to provide a broader understanding of local government in BC.  The program helps develop new skills that can be applied right away to local government employees and can be a heavy course load when working fulltime.  This it the only program of its kind in BC and requires students to take the four core courses of local government (administration, services, finance, and law), as well as one elective.  During the pandemic these courses were offered electronically.

Lisa was hired to the Township team on Monday, May 17, 2021 in the role of the Township’s Deputy Corporate Officer.  She came to the Township after approximately 4 years in local government with the City of Armstrong.  We are excited to have her as a part of our team and know that this award is just a reflection of her hard-working and tenacious passion for local government.
