Fire Behaviour
We would like to thank all the Council members and staff for the Township of Spallumcheen, City of Armstrong Council and staff, all emergency crews and volunteers who showed up to assist yesterday.
Fire behaviour was changing rapidly yesterday and the situation was evolving quickly. Shifting winds, sustained winds of 80 km/hr and wind gusts up to 115 km/hr made this a challenging fire to predict and fight for those crews in the field. We understand that this is a challenging time for many and ask that you please respect staff and volunteers. They are here to assist you and many of them also have homes in the evacuation order or alert zones.
Water Restrictions
The Township has moved to Stage 3 water restrictions in the South Local Area Service to preserve water for fire fighting purposes.
