AIM Roads - Weather Forecast Advisory

Please take note of a weather advisory for the upcoming weather forecast and anticipated snowfall in the North & South Okanagan. Snow accumulation expected to start tomorrow morning – Saturday January 20, 2023. Variation of accumulation throughout the areas and will be heavier in higher elevations.

AIM's road crews and equipment are on the road preparing for the storm. They have increased the coverage with contractors and are prepared to deploy extra equipment as conditions develop. They have a good supply of materials in each of their pits to pull from for both abrasive and salt material applications. They will be watching the temperatures and applying salt brine if effective with forecasted temperatures. Their plow trucks and operators will be plowing snow accumulation in priority to road classifications.

Anyone travelling or wishing to travel should ensure they are well prepared, check DRIVEBC https://drivebc.ca/ for conditions and events, have emergency kits readily available and drive according to the conditions. Give the road crews and equipment room to work, never pass or crowd snow clearing equipment.
