The Township of Spallumcheen staff and the Armstrong Spallumcheen Fire Department continue to monitor fires in our area that could pose a potential threat to Spallumcheen residents or property.
As fires move closer, BC Wildfire will make the determination if an Evacuation Alert needs to be ordered for properties in Spallumcheen. An Evacuation Alert is not a request to leave your property. It is a notification that you should be ready to leave the property for an extended period of time with potentially short notice.
Once any properties in Spallumcheen are under an Evacuation Alert, Township staff will immediately issue a press release to all area print, online and radio media and post it on our website. You can access any Wildfire information from our webpage by clicking on the LEARN MORE button under Wildfire Updates. RCMP staff will also be notified to start door to door notifications of the alert.
At this time, no properties in Spallumcheen are under an Evacuation Alert. If you would like to pre-prepare your property and your family for a potential evacuation, there are many helpful resources on the Emergency Management BC website under PreparedBC.
