Ministry of Agriculture Notification - Agricultural Land Inventory: Regional District of North Okanagan 2026

The BC Ministry of Agriculture and Food, and the Partnership for Water Sustainability in BC are completing an Agricultural Land Inventory (ALI) across the Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO) between June 15 to 26, 2026 between the hours of 7 am and 6pm. To complete an ALI, Professional Agrologists and GIS technicians perform visual observations to help confirm mapped crops, irrigation, natural vegetation, buildings, livestock facilities, and farm practices within the ALR and parcels where significant farming is observable. Visual observations are conducted only from public roads using vehicles marked with “Government of BC” or “BC Ministry of Agriculture” signs.

Goose Lake Range Park Access Road - Dust Control and Temporary Road Closure

The Township of Spallumcheen would like to advise residents that the Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO) will be undertaking dust control measures on the access lane to Goose Lake Range Park on May 20, 2026. As part of the ongoing review of traffic control measures in the area, the Township of Spallumcheen, in conjunction with the Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO), will be installing speed bumps along the access lane to Goose Lake Range Park on June 3, 2026, weather dependent. The pool opening has been delayed by approximately one week due to an unexpected equipment repair identified during seasonal startup.
