Accident Closes Highway 97A - traffic rerouted through Spallumcheen roads

The Township has been notified that an accident has closed Highway 97A north of the log barn.  Traffic is being rerouted through Spallumcheen roadways to reconnect with Highway 97a once clear of the accident site. This closure is expected to remain into effect into the evening.  Please use caution and obey all detour and traffic information on site.

The status of the Hullcar Mountain wildfire (K41796) remains as Being Held. This means a wildfire that is projected, based on fuel and weather conditions and resource availability, to remain within the current perimeter, control line or boundary. On August 11, 2024, the Township of Spallumcheen downgraded the Evacuation Order area to an Evacuation Alert based upon the advice of BC Wildfire. The previous Evacuation Alert area was moved to All Clear status. Please use the interactive map on our website to check your property's status.
