The Township of Spallumcheen is taking proactive steps to build a wildfire-resilient community. Through education, awareness, and community-driven initiatives, we’re working together to reduce wildfire risks and protect the places we call home.
Mayor and Council invite you to be part of this important effort.
FireSmart is Canada’s leading wildfire prevention program—a proven system of simple, science-backed steps that help protect your home from wildfire.
✔️ Reduce the risk of embers igniting your home
✔️ Create defensible space around your property
✔️ Get connected with local wildfire experts & resources
✔️ Help protect your neighbourhood
The Township of Spallumcheen will be hosting 3 block parties to raise awareness about the FireSmart Program. We invite you to come out and join us for free food, free gifts and lots of information.

HIZ stands for Home Ignition Zone assessment and it is the first step to making your home, neighbourhood and community safer. It is also the first step in eligibility for our Home Rebate program rolling out later this year.
Marc, Alexis or one of our trained FireSmart team members will come to your property, meet with you and complete the assessment. Afterward, they will review the recommendations and next steps. It's simple, free and the first step to making your home FireSmartTM.
