Each year members of Council attend the Union of BC Municipalities (UBCM) Conference. UBCM was formed to provide a common voice for local governments. The annual conference provides an opportunity for local governments of all sizes and from all areas of the province to come together, share their experiences and ideas and take a united position.
The conference presents an opportunity for policy implementation and engagement through meetings and presentations with Provincial Ministers, ministry staff and other Provincial and Federal agencies and organizations. These opportunities present a platform for all communities to discuss issues of concern and work collaboratively with these Provincial or Federal representatives to find solutions.
Attendance at the UBCM Conference is one of the ways Council advocates for our famers, industry and residents on a Provincial and Federal level; brining issues that face Spallumcheen to the forefront.
The 2022 UBCM Convention ran from September 12-16 in Whistler, BC.
