The Finance Department of the Township of Spallumcheen is responsible for Financial Plan preparation, Financial Reporting, General Ledger Maintenance along with Property Taxes, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
The Finance Department is located in the Spallumcheen Municipal Hall, 4144 Spallumcheen Way, which is open from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, except for Statutory Holidays. The Township is required by Provincial statute to adopt a five year Financial Plan (Budget) Bylaw on or before May 15 of the current year, along with a five year Capital Expenditure Bylaw and a Tax Rates Bylaw. The requirements of the Financial Plan also include a public consultation process. Financial Bylaws are available for review.

The Township of Spallumcheen processes between 2300 and 2500 tax notices annually. Notices are usually mailed in the third week of May. Please note that current taxes must be paid by the first working day of July to avoid a 10% penalty. More Property Tax information.
The Township offers a Tax Prepayment Plan for those property owners who have paid their current taxes and wish to start paying next years taxes. How it works:

The Township of Spallumcheen may support voluntary non-profit organizations by exempting land or improvements, or both, from taxation under Section 224 of the Community Charter for non-profit organizations who provide land/or improvements for public benefit and are subject to annual review of property utilization by the public. Please refer to the Township of Spallumcheen Permissive Tax Exemption Policy No. 1950.001 for full details.
The Township of Spallumcheen accepts applications for Grants-in-Aid annually no later than July 31st in each year. Reporting requirements required to be submitted with the application are outlined in the Township of Spallumcheen Grants-in-Aid Policy #1850.001, which is available at the municipal Office at 4144 Spallumcheen Way, Spallumcheen, BC during regular business hours, or on this site highlighted below. Inquiries and submissions shall be made to the attention of the Finance Department.
The Township prepares between 1100 and 1200 accounts payable cheques annually totaling in excess of $5,000,000.00. Cheques are issued at middle and end of each month.
