Effective 9:00 am on December 8, 2022 the Boil Water Advisory for the Larkin Water Area has been rescinded. Staff worked with Interior Health to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. The most recent water sample was cleared by Interior Health to return to normal water usage.
Make Water Work

“Given this year’s record-breaking heatwave, earlier start to the wildfires, and the ongoing drought through the summer, making water work – and not wasting it – was more critical than ever,” explained Water Board Communications Director Corinne Jackson, who manages the OkWaterWise program and its Make Water Work campaign.
Water Restrictions
The Township of Spallumcheen Water Regulation and Conservation Bylaw 2013, 2020 outlines the different Water Conservation Sages that apply to the use of water for Domestic Use within the Water Service Area:

Municipal Water Utilities
Water is supplied through 18 different Water Utilities in the Township of Spallumcheen. There are 9 Municipal Water Utilities managed by the Township of Spallumcheen.
Hankey - The Hankey Water System is located on Pleasant Valley Road in the Township of Spallumcheen extending from Pleasant Valley Cross Road south to 1448 Pleasant Valley Road. The Hankey Water System receives water from the City of Armstrong and supplies domestic water only, to approximately 7 properties.
Highland Park - The Highland Park Water System is located directly north of the City of Armstrong in the Township of Spallumcheen. The Highland Park Water System receives water from the City of Armstrong and supplies domestic water only, to approximately 36 properties.
Lansdowne - The Lansdowne Water System is generally in the North-East area of the Township of Spallumcheen. The Lansdowne Water System receives water from the City of Armstrong and supplies domestic water only, to approximately 80 properties.
Larkin - The Larkin Waterworks District is located in the southern region of Spallumcheen and services approximately 125 properties. The District is bounded to the North-East by Eagle Rock WD and to the North by Otter Lake WD. To the North-West, the Larkin boundary extends to the Eastern shore of Otter Lake. Otter Lake Cross Rd. runs from the North-East end of Larkin WD and along the WD’s Eastern Border until it intersects with Highway 97A. From the Intersection, the Highway is the main road running through to the District’s southern border.
Pleasant Valley -The Pleasant Valley water system is located on Pleasant Valley Road in the Township of Spallumcheen extending from the north Armstrong/Spallumcheen boundary, south to Pleasant Valley Cross Road. The Pleasant Valley Water System receives water from the City of Armstrong and supplies domestic water only, to approximately 27 properties. While the water is distributed through the City of Armstrong water treatment plant and water lines works, the Township holds a Water License for 43,117 m3 at Fortune Creek and the Silver Star Lakes reservoirs.
Round Prairie - The Round Prairie Water System is located on Salmon River Road in the Township of Spallumcheen extending from Wood Avenue to Round Prairie Road. The Round Prairie Water System receives water from the City of Armstrong and supplies domestic water only, to approximately 9 properties. While the water is distributed through the City of Armstrong water treatment plant and water lines works, the Township holds a Water License for 14,925 m3 at from Fortune Creek and the Silver Star Lakes reservoirs.
Silver Star - The Silver Star water system is located west off of Highway 97 in the Township of Spallumcheen extending from McLeod Road north to Mountainview Road. The Silver Star Water System receives water from the City of Armstrong and supplies domestic water only, to approximately 161 properties.
Stardel - The Stardel Water System is located generally in the North-East area of the Township of Spallumcheen, directly east of the City of Armstrong. The Stardel Water System receives water from the City of Armstrong and supplies domestic water only, to approximately 8 properties.
Stepping Stones - The Stepping Stones Water Utility services the southern portion of Spallumcheen. Water is supplied and distributed by the Greater Vernon Services Committee.
